  The Corn Creek to Vinegar Creek stretch of Salmon River in Idaho County is 79 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to
    drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Corn Creek to Vinegar Creek section is one of them.
The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There's camping available near Salmon River. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. The  
river winds through the Salmon River Mountains and you get great scenery.

Briefly about the general area:
Good hiking is available along the Three Blaze Trail, and there's great hiking along the Chamberlain Trail. You absolutely should have a thing about the Salmon River Mountains. For the period of the summer months at Salmon River highs are regularly in the 70's while night lows are typically in the 30's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Salmon River are in the 0's. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Salmon River.
