The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The scenic beauty of     Valley County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. The wild scenery of the Salmon River Mountains is great. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. Great exercise and just   hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Boise City-Nampa, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Briefly about the general area: Rainbow Spring is always fun to check out; the Indian Ridge Trail is a tremendous hiking trail nearby. All year is a tremendous time in the Salmon River Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. You simply have to stop at Rainbow Rock while you're here at Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork. If the weather is perfect here at Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork, you can go for a hike along the South Fork Sheep Creek Trail.
