  The put-in is not too far from Mountain Home, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Marsh Creek to Boundary Creek section of Salmon River - Middle Fork is 8 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Custer County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from
    the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Marsh Creek to Boundary Creek section is just
one of them. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The river winds through the Sawtooth Range and you get great scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better  
keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.

Cy Springs is a wonderful site to explore while you're at Salmon River - Middle Fork. Near Salmon River - Middle Fork you find the Blue Bunch Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Going for a hike on the Bear Valley Creek Trail is always a delightful adventure. At Salmon River - Middle Fork all through the summertime highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Salmon River - Middle Fork.
