  This section of Salmon River - Middle Fork in Idaho is 96 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Mountain Home it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river
    tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds
nearby. Now this is a pretty long section, so it looks like you will be camping out. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Boundary  
Creek to Cache Bar section is just one of many. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
There are wonderful locations to discover along the Shellrock Ridge Trail, and don't leave Salmon River - Middle Fork without first going for a hike along the Bear Trap Saddle Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Salmon River Mountains. For the duration of the summertime months, highs regularly are in the 70's at Salmon River - Middle Fork.
