The starting location is a reasonable drive from Boise City-Nampa, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not     easy. The scenic beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River - South Fork have people coming here. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. When you're paddling down a Salmon River Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in   advance you're all set. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Buckhorn Bar is right next door to Salmon River - South Fork and is positively a great place to have a look at, and do take a hike on the Eagle Rock Trail. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Salmon River Mountains. When you're here at Salmon River - South Fork it's always fun to take a look at Payette National Forest, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Miners Peak Trail.
