If you're coming from Mountain Home it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The Marys Creek to Bruneau River section of Sheep Creek in Idaho is 19.3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V+ section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy |
as elsewhere. The Marys Creek to Bruneau River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The nature scenery of Owyhee County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This
| section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

Creek without first going for a hike along the Cedar Tree Trail. Good hiking is available along the Tindall Trail. For the period of the warm months here at Sheep Creek, high temperatures frequently reach the 90's. Through
the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Sheep Creek throughout the wintertime typically sink into the 20's. Sheep Creek
is pretty waterless frequently. For the period of the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July.
