Info about kayaking fr below dam American Falls to Massacre Rocks S.P - how is current- whitewater- undertow- safety - intermediate kayaker Says Claud Richardson

Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The nature scenery of Idaho and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You might have
to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number
of other spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Burley, as you can see on the road map further down. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the American Falls to Lake Walcott section is one of them. This section of Snake River is 32.7
miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section.
