The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The wonderful Gooding/ Twin Falls County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Crystal Springs to Upper Salmon Falls Res stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river   system. Briefly about the general area: You'll meet a lot of folks from Wendell here, and Niagara Springs State Park is a good location. The views at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind, and a visit to Malad Gorge State Park revives the spirit. This river is always fun. All through the summertime months highs here at Snake River reach the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Snake River fall into the 10's. At Snake River you don’t see much precipitation.
