Idaho whitewater, Snake River

Gooding Twin Falls county, Hagerman to Bliss section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     6 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Hagerman to Bliss stretch of Snake River is 6 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Gooding/ Twin Falls County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking
or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from
far and near.

Briefly about the general area:
Visiting Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and you're sure to bump into some great people from Bliss here. The month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while July is ordinarily the driest month. At Snake River during the long summer days highs are in the 90's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Snake River.
