You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This stretch of Snake River is 47 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater.

about the general area: There is a fine hiking trail in the vicinity of Snake River called the Cook Creek Trail, and there are plenty of people from Lewiston here. Going for a hike on the Cottonwood Creek Trail is always
a great adventure, and you could always look at Sandal Gulch. This is such a fun river. Don't leave Snake River without first paying a visit to Captain John Rapids. Don't leave Snake River without visiting Hells Gate State
Park; a journey to Captain John Rapids will fill your spirit with fine feelings. Not much precipitation falls here at Snake River. May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is July.
