  This section of Spokane River in Kootenai County is -blank- miles long and it is classified as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful Kootenai County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything.
    A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The Post Falls Dam to State Line section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. The starting location is a short drive from Coeur d'Alene. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
The slopes of Mt. Spokane are so inviting nobody can resist, and there are plenty of people from Post Falls
 
here at Spokane River. On a splendid day it's a glorious idea to spend the day at Honeysuckle Beach, and if you want to hit the beach, Sanders Beach is nearby. This is a great river. Through the warm months highs here at Spokane River get into the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Spokane River sink into the 10's. The yearly rainfall here at Spokane River is about average. Of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow while July is ordinarily the driest month.
