Shoshone county, Conrad Crossing Campground to Bluff Creek Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III-IV     7 miles

We Paddle rafted the Joe 2009 Memorial Day, the tumble down run was big & fast.It is a great run when the water is high with big waves and a great run when the water is lower with some awsome rock garden, and tight canyon walls. Says BWhite

The Conrad Crossing Campground to Bluff Creek Bridge stretch of St. Joe River in Idaho is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. Whitewater rafting
and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The natural
beauty of Shoshone County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Moscow, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
The wild scenery of the Bitterroot Range is great. The Conrad Crossing Campground to Bluff Creek Bridge stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

Briefly about the general area:
A splendid location like St. Joe National Forest close to St. Joe River is too great to leave out, and don't leave St. Joe River without first going for a hike along the Storm Peak Trail.
