Idaho whitewater, Teton River Fremont county, Teton Dam site to Teton Forks section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     6.3 miles   Looks like the put in coordinates are off.  They seem to be a bit far north towards the henry's fork.  Maybe I'm wrong or it could be Google earth, but if you look at where the river is and the old Teton Dam it is understandable. The scenic beauty of Fremont County and the beautiful way the water current moves     down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Teton River in Fremont County is 6.3 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There's camping available near Teton River. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back   for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: You can never get enough of the great skiing at Kelly Canyon, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Carlton Cutoff Trail. At Teton River you always meet someone from Chester. High temperatures at Teton River during the warm months are in the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, typically in the 40's.
