Idaho whitewater, Wilson River

Gooding county, Close to Interstate 84 to Close to Wilson Lake Reservoir section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III     3 miles
This stretch of Wilson River is 3 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's
a road map further down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will
make you glad you came. The wonderful Gooding County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Close to Interstate
84 to Close to Wilson Lake Reservoir section is one of them.
