Illinois whitewater, Fall Creek

Adams county, End of Gorge Trail to Parking Lot section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-IV     2 miles

Why is this place closed down now? So many people could benefit from this wonderful place. Says Lzzy

The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Quincy, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful Adams County scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book
a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch of Fall Creek in Adams County is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-IV section. A good workout and just hanging out
with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. This
is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers.
