This section of Sangamon is 0.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Illinois tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. This is an extremely short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other sections to paddle along Sangamon than   the Playspot in Petersburg section. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near.
