The Troy Grove Blacktop to Little Vermilion stretch of Tomahawk Creek in La Salle County is 2.8 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Ottawa-Streator, as you can see on the road map further down. This river system has a few good paddling sections and     the Troy Grove Blacktop to Little Vermilion section is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
