This stretch of Big Pine Creek in Indiana is 6.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II+(III) section. The starting location is a short drive from Lafayette, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater
    rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better
not forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The campgrounds here at Big Pine Creek are pretty good. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. The beautiful scenery of Warren County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The Rainsville to Twin Bridges stretch  
is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
Lovers Leap is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Big Pine Creek, and the nice people of Williamsport like to hang out close by. The yearly rainfall here at Big Pine Creek is about average. Most of the rain falls throughout July, and the driest month is January. Summertime highs at Big Pine Creek commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's.
