The put-in is not too far from South Bend-Mishawaka, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The wonderful -blank- County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.     Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Whitewater course stretch is the only paddling stretch along East Race. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Indiana is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Briefly about the general area: People from Argos love to come   to East Race, and Potato Creek State Park is a delightful place to stretch your legs a bit.
