The starting location is a short drive from Bloomington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The Cataract Falls section of Mill Creek in Indiana is 1 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater.
    The nature scenery of Indiana and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Cataract Falls stretch is one of them. A good workout and just hanging out
with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. This is an extremely short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The  
campgrounds here at Mill Creek are pretty good. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places.

Briefly about the general area:
Upper Cataract Falls is an inspiring spot to check out while you're here, and Mill Creek is a place with many visitors from Quincy. A spree to Mill Creek wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Lower Cataract Falls. Hulman Beach is close to Mill Creek if you're in a beach type of mood. Everybody loves McCormick's Creek State Park. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 80's at Mill Creek, and through the night it cools down to the 60's.
