The beautiful scenery of Clark County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Indiana whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding.     If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you're coming from Louisville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't   matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Upper Falls of Ohio section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Ohio River without first paying a visit to Falls of the Ohio; there are plenty of people from Clarksville here at Ohio River. A spree to Falls of the Ohio will fill your spirit with wonderful feelings. E. P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park is a great spot to go if you're at Ohio River. Through the long summer days at Ohio River highs are commonly in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's.
