The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Elizabethtown, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery of Harrison County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. I-II(III) section by American Whitewater. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area
| you won't find many other paddling spots. The Harrison Crawford Forest Horse Camp to Mouth of Ohio River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Indiana tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. State Forest, and Paradise Bottom is an out of the ordinary place to go to while at Potato Run. At this river you will always have a good time. A tour to Cold Friday Hollow is always fun. All through the summer months highs
here at Potato Run get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Potato Run temperatures fall to the 10's.
