Indiana whitewater, White River Martin county, Hindostan Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I-II(IV)     0.1 miles   Me and my buddy have done the East Fork of the White River a couple of times now from Azalia to Rockford. It is roughly 13 miles. Not sure why this is listed as difficult as it is not at all. The only hard thing about it is the distance. We have gotten through it in 3.5 to 4 hours each time. As of 2012 it has been slightly low but we got through it all the way without scraping bottom the second time and avoided most of the downed trees.     Had a great time and there were a few decent rapids but nothing real exhilarating or steep. Make sure to bring some snacks and lots of water with you because if it is hot and sunny you will get hungry and very thirsty. Highway 65 will mark about 75% through and the bridge on 11 will mark roughly 85% and once you get to the train tacks you have roughly 200 yards before the take-out in Rockford, where a large public access site is state run and gets you out before the dam. Water was no more than 3-4 ft at any given time, but all in all a fun river! Says Anonymous Hindostan Falls can be run during high water but must be portaged along the left descending   bank during low water.
