The starting location is     a short drive from Waterloo-Cedar Falls, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Iowa is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.   The wonderful Iowa scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Cedar River will make you feel great. Cedar River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Cedar Falls stretch is the only one.
