Kentucky whitewater, Banklick Creek Kenton county, Independence Station Road to Doe Run confluence section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     5 miles   Fun run, Top Drop is an easy class II. Whole creek is tight and technical at low flows, have heard it gets nasty at high flows. A lot of trash, but no bad smell. Definitely recommend to intermediate paddlers, but normally only 1 line through rapids so scouting is helpful. Says cgreene Paddled one small section during a rain event. This creek is definitely a raw sewage risk. That fact aside, to get any whitewater action on this creek,     you have to be prepared to paddle during a heavy rain event, often while it is still raining. It gets full and low very quickly due to small suburban watershed. Says NK Banklick Creek is nasty water.  Not sure where there are any class ii or iii rapids - I've never seen them and I've been close the creek all my life.  Most parts have warnings not to swim basically because of the raw sewage that runs in it.  Paddle at your own risk - I won't! The Independence Station Road to Doe Run confluence stretch of Banklick Creek is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Independence Station Road to Doe Run confluence section is one of them.
