Kentucky whitewater, Hickman Creek Jessamine county, Brumfield Lane to 1268 Bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II(III)     4 miles   Great creek, one of my favorite runs. Very nice area the only down side is that there is some dumps along the river side. But still is a very scenic area. There is a lot of wildlife along the creek side. Now to the good stuff the white water this creek is great! I would say the best cfs to run the creek is around 1000 for white water. But at flood stage the creek becomes very risky, me and a friend of mine rain it at 1700 cfs with very     high standing waves that I would say there are very good class III rapids and easily class IV. There are a few nice surf holes, there is a good one at the put in so you could park and surf. By far one of the best local creeks to paddle and one of my favorites. Says Andrew Walker I have been rideing this strectch of creek about 4 times a summer for the past six years. Woundn't call it rapids though, most of the time it is quite shallow, alot of packing your boat. Flood water is a differt story. It's quite dangerouse but it can be done, I was able to navigate 9 miles of the creek while flooding before I lost my kayak to the creek. Beautiful ride though,   bring a fishing pole, lots of small fish! Says Jamie Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. The wonderful Kentucky scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Brumfield Lane to 1268 Bridge stretch is one of them.
