The starting location is a short drive from Corbin, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Laurel River is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III(IV) section. Briefly about the general area: No need to travel far to take a look at attention-grabbing
stuff like Long Bend. A visit to Cumberland Falls State Park when you're here at Laurel River is never a bad idea, and going for a hike on the Sheltowee Trace Trail is always a good adventure. This river is a wonderful place
to visit. People from Keavy love to come to Laurel River, and there are pleasant places to explore along the Bark Camp Trail. Summer at Laurel River arrives with high temperatures in the 80's.
