  The scenic beauty of Madison County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Richmond it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Kentucky is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The Curtis RoadBridge

section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The Curtis RoadBridge to Kentucky 876 Bridge section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make  
reservations in advance you're all set.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Silver Creek there are plenty of people from Richmond, and going to Fort Boonesborough State Park is a pleasant thing to do. At Silver Creek throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Silver Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Silver Creek a wet place. Most of the rain falls throughout May, and October on the other hand is the driest.
