  The Cobbosseecontee Lake to Pleasant Pond section of Cobbosseecontee Stream is 11 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Augusta-Waterville, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Kennebec County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might
    find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back
for more. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Cobbosseecontee Lake to Pleasant Pond stretch is one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. You can enjoy  
this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff.

Briefly about the general area:
Peacock Beach State Park is a good place to stop at; you'll meet a lot of people from Manchester here. Cobbosseecontee Stream is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall. November is the month that gets the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. For the period of the days of summer here at Cobbosseecontee Stream, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Cobbosseecontee Stream.
