This stretch of Cupsuptic River in Oxford County is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lewiston-Auburn, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. to Big Falls section is one of them. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Oxford County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come

Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up | |

Briefly about the general area: There's delightful hiking along the Morrell Trail; during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Eustis for sure. Don't leave Cupsuptic River without first going for
a hike along the Bigelow Range Trail. Cupsuptic River gets a normal amount of yearly rain. July is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here
at Cupsuptic River, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Cupsuptic River.
