  The wonderful Maine scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. The Chain Lakes to Eustis section of Dead River - North Branch in Franklin County is 19 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. Getting some good exercise
    and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. There's camping available near Dead River - North Branch. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because
these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots.
