  The put-in is not too far from Berlin, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery of Maine and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. The Kennebago Lake to Bridge section of Kennebago River in Franklin Oxford County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Kennebago Lake to Bridge
    section is one of them. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this
section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number  
of paddling rivers. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery.

Briefly about the general area:
The Bemis Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Kennebago River, and if you're popping by from Rangeley, you won't be the only one. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The White Mountains rocks! If the weather is great here at Kennebago River, you can go for a hike along the Milrose Trail. A trip to Rangeley Lake State Park when you're here at Kennebago River is a good idea. High temperatures at Kennebago River through the days of summer are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's.
