  The put-in location is a short drive from Augusta-Waterville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Piscataquis County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not
    as hard as elsewhere. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are
some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Kingsbury Pond to Coles Corner Road section is one of them. The Kingsbury Pond to Coles Corner Road stretch of Kingsbury Stream in Piscataquis County is 11 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go  
ahead and pack your sleeping bag.

Briefly about the general area:
The good folks of Harmony like to hang out close by. The high level of rainfall makes Kingsbury Stream a rather wet place. The wettest month of the year is mostly July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is February. Through the long summer days at Kingsbury Stream temperatures are frequently in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Kingsbury Stream dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.
