  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-South Portland, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This stretch of Little River in Maine is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American
    Whitewater. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The wonderful Maine scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors
are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Stackpole Bridge to Hubbard Road stretch is just one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here  
you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Little River you'll in all probability meet some people from Berwick. Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park is a splendid site to have a look at on a pretty day. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little River a wet place. November is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Little River commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Little River temperatures descend to the 10's.
