The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Portland-South Portland, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Here at Little River you'll in all probability meet some people from Berwick. Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park is a splendid site to
have a look at on a pretty day. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little River a wet place. November is the wettest month with most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime
highs at Little River commonly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Little River temperatures descend to the 10's.
