Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Maine are easier than the national norm, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. The natural beauty of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Little     River in York County is 4 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. The US202 to Lord Road stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Spend the day on the beach at Lake Ivanhoe Beach if you're here at Little River,   and you positively must stop by Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park while you're here. One of the best things about Little River is its proximity to Great East Lake Beach, and there are plenty of people from Lebanon here. This river is a great place to visit. Little River sees pretty high levels of precipitation. Most of the rain falls during November, and January on the other hand is the driest. During the months of summer highs here at Little River get into the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's, and night lows through the winter for Little River tend to be in the 0's.
