The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often more forgiving than in other states, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This stretch of Little Androscoggin River is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The beautiful scenery |
of Maine and the water flowing gracefully down Little Androscoggin River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you're
| coming from Lewiston-Auburn it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The campgrounds here at Little Androscoggin River are pretty good. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. The White Mountains scenery | |
|
is wonderful. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
Briefly about the general
area: A day on the slopes of Mount Abram is just what you need; why not take a refreshing hike along the Albany Brook Trail. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the White Mountains has to offer.
Lots of people from Greenwood come to Little Androscoggin River, and do take a hike on the Albany Mountain Trail. This is such a wonderful river.
