  The scenic beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you
    coming back for more. The starting location is a short drive from Lewiston-Auburn, as you can see on the road map further down. The West Paris to South Paris section of Little Androscoggin River in Maine is 12 miles long
and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-II section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. This is one of a small number  
of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Little Androscoggin River without first paying a visit to Bisco Falls. The skiing at Mount Abram is tremendous; a tremendous site is Snow Falls Gorge. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Little Androscoggin River is not far at all from Norway. The annual rainfall here at Little Androscoggin River is about average. Throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; February is when it's the driest. At Little Androscoggin River through the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
