This stretch of Magalloway River in Maine is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. The starting point is not too far from Berlin, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions
    for lots of people. When you're paddling down a White Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in
mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The scenic beauty of Maine and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. There are plenty of other stretches  
in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks.

Briefly about the general area:
Go for a hike on the Old Magalloway Trail. At Magalloway River through the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's; overnight lows in the-10's for Magalloway River. All the water falling down from the sky makes Magalloway River a wet location. For the period of the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February.
