The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. The starting location is a short drive from Bangor, as you can see on the road map |
further down. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Haynesville to Kingman stretch is just one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
| but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear.
