This section of Moxie Stream is 1.75 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in location is a short drive from Augusta-Waterville, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over |
and over. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get
| to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.

Stream regularly tend to be in the 70's; the night is a little colder of course, usually in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at
Moxie Stream descend into the-10's. The yearly rainfall here at Moxie Stream is about average. The month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
