If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maine you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The starting point is not too far from Bangor, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Briefly about the general area: On a good day at Narraguagus River you can take a hike along the Lead Mountain Trail, and Black Beach is pretty nearby if you're
in a beach type of mood. There is a pleasant hiking trail right next door to Narraguagus River called the Eagle Lake Trail; you can hit the beach if you want, Schoodic Beach is practically right here. This is a great river.
Narraguagus River gets lots of water. Most of the rain falls during November, and February is when it's the driest. Summertime at Narraguagus River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's.
