  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lewiston-Auburn, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Orbeton Stream is 4.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V+ section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations
    in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too.
The natural beauty of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy.

here at Orbeton Stream you will meet lots of folks from close by Phillips, and striking scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Saddleback. Orbeton Stream is right by the Piazza Rock Trail, and a trip to Mt. Blue State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. This river has so much to offer. Take a hike on the Brook Trail. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Orbeton Stream, and the overnight is a little cooler of course, generally in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and night lows in the-10's for Orbeton Stream. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Orbeton Stream.
