  This section of Passadumkeag River in Penobscot County is 0.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The wonderful Penobscot County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. There
    are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater
rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is an extremely short stretch so no need to bring snacks. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bangor, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so

Briefly about the general area:
This is a popular place for folks from Lee, and do put some time aside to spend at Grand Falls if you're here at Passadumkeag River. On a great day at Passadumkeag River you can take a hike along the Eagle Lake Trail. Passadumkeag River sees pretty high levels of precipitation. November is the month that gets the most rain; February is when it's the driest. All through the days of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Passadumkeag River. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. All through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Passadumkeag River dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
