If you're coming from Portland-South Portland it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. The scenic beauty of Maine and the water flowing gracefully down Presumpscot River make the trip here worthwhile. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good     spots for that around here. The average Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There are no other sections to paddle along Presumpscot River than the Sebago Lake to Pleasant Hill section. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about   the general area: Presumpscot River is a site with many visitors from Westbrook, and a short tour to Saccarappa Falls is always worthwhile. A visit to Crescent Beach State Park revitalizes the spirit, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Back Shore. This is a really good river. Two Lights State Park is a magnificent place to go if you're at Presumpscot River, and a day at Pine Point Beach is time well spent. The high level of precipitation makes Presumpscot River a quite wet site.
