York county, Limington Rips section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II+(IV)     0.5 miles
If you're coming from Portland-South Portland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Limington Rips section is one of them. The Limington Rips section of Saco River in Maine is
0.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+(IV) section. The scenic beauty of York County and the water flowing gracefully down Saco River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. And
of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This section is very short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whether you're whitewater rafting or
kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.
