  The Weeks Mills to Sheepscot River stretch of Sheepscot River - West Branch in Maine is 11.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. The wonderful Maine scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Augusta-Waterville, as you can see on the road map further down. You might have to settle
    for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might
find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here.
