Mountains is a great experience. If you're coming from Berlin it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise
| and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: You'll meet a lot of folks from Lovell here, and the slopes of Sunday
River are so inviting noone can resist. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. You might want to pay a visit to Carlton Notch if you're here at Wild River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Wild River;
Hastings Trail is a splendid local trail. Grafton Notch State Park is a glorious place to stretch your legs a bit, and the Roost Trail offers hiking at its best.
