Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance     because these hotels fill up quick. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Lancaster, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Going to Susquehanna State Park near Broad Creek is a great thing to do; you'll meet a lot of people from Darlington here. A spree to Rocks State Park when you're here at Broad Creek is never a bad idea, and Belcamp Beach is rather close by if you're in a beach type of mood. This is such a great river. From a rainfall point of view Broad Creek is a rather common place. The wettest month of the year is regularly July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. At Broad Creek through the long summer days highs are in the 80's.
