The Dam to Youghiogheny River stretch of Deep Creek in Maryland is 1.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V section. You might     be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This is a very short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: There's no such thing as a   bad day of skiing at nearby Wisp. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Lower Swallow Falls; while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Mc Henry. At this river you will always have a good time. A journey to Muddy Creek Falls will fill your soul with delightful feelings. During the summer highs here at Deep Creek get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's while Deep Creek nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. Deep Creek sees pretty high levels of precipitation.
