  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maryland is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. The nature scenery of Maryland and the water flowing gracefully down Jennings Run will make you feel great. This stretch of Jennings Run in Allegany County is 3.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+ section. The put-in location is a short drive from
    Cumberland, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. There's camping available near
Jennings Run. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here.

You're sure to bump into some friendly folks from Corriganville
 
here, and you can go for a hike on the Old Mail Trail. Jennings Run is a good place of normal rain. Of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the summertime months at Jennings Run temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's, and the night is a bit chillier of course, usually in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 30's; night lows at Jennings Run throughout the wintertime usually fall into the 10's.
